Analyses for SAR (Safety Analysis Report)

TES participates on preparation of licensing documentation of NPPs and other nuclear safety-related activities. TES important advantage is our complete independence on NPP operator and regulatory authority.

In the area of DSA application for SAR we offer following services:

• Performance of deterministic safety analyses for SAR for postulated initiating events and scenarios including:

o conditions of AOO, DBA a DEC A
o extreme external conditions
o complete NPP unit including SFP (spent fuel pool)
o shutdown states
o auxiliary and BoP systems (essential service water, cooling water, raw water, etc.)

• Preparation of specific parts of SAR
• Independent assessment of third party DSA
• Consulting assistance within preparation of safety documentation

An important part of our support of licensing documentation is the performance of deterministic safety analyses for amendment and updating of SAR (Safety Analysis Report). For these calculations we use modern computational tools certified by the Czech nuclear regulatory authority (SÚJB), which is applied according our internal methodologies compliant with Czech and international requirements (IAEA, WENRA).

Innovation of Calculation Models for Safety Analyses

Project no. CZ.01.1.02/0.0./0.0/16 045/0009811 is intended to ensure the development of a comprehensive CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) model of the nuclear reactor and to perform CFD calculations of the coolant mixing in VVER-1000 reactor. Results gained in cooperation with the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň (Czech Republic) will be applied in TES for further innovation and validation of calculation models and programs for safety analyses of VVER-1000 reactor units, especially in modes where data for validation from real nuclear reactors or experimental facilities are not available. The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations for Competitiveness.
