Monitoring Systems of Electric Equipment

MOSAD®-6 monitoring system

TES has developed the stationary modular system MOSAD®-6, designed for continuous monitoring of large high-voltage electrical equipment and systems operation and for the recording of rapid transients and failure modes and their subsequent analysis.

MOSAD® name is an abbreviation for “Monitoring Systems of Analogue and Digital Signals”.

On-line monitoring system MOSAD® operated at the Nuclear Power Plant Temelín was recommended by the OSART Mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency as a “good maintenance practice”.

System features

  • Permanent monitoring of important continuous and discreet parameters of electrical equipment (current, voltage, position of electrical contacts, relays, etc.) by a complex of analogue and binary modules , which are organised into monitoring units.
  • The overall monitoring system consists of variable number of distributed monitoring units, equipped with central control, data recorder and self-diagnostics.
  • A single analogue unit allows simultaneous monitoring of up to 120 continuous parameters.
  • A single binary unit allows simultaneous monitoring of up to 480 discrete parameters.
  • The system allows combining analogue (at 8 inputs) and binary (at 32 inputs) measurement cards in each monitoring unit
  • Modular design makes possible modification of the system according to the size of the monitored equipment or customer requirements
  • Local or remote access to the system via WEB interface, including remote fault indication as well as the possibility of e-mails generated according to predefined events.
  • Connection of the measuring system to standard sensors equipped with electrical output (voltage/current transformers, operational instrumentation), connecting to contacts of switching elements (circuit breakers, switchers, relays etc.).
  • Galvanic separation of all inputs, synchronous sampling, time standard generator possibility (e.g. GPS).
  • Time resolution up to 0.01ms for analogue and binary parameters in case of busy monitoring unit, up to 500 ns in case of minimum monitoring unit load (only one measurement card).
  • Transient recorder mode.
  • Real time computation of mean and RMS value, active and reactive power, frequency, phase shift, power factor and their continuous periodic recording at defined intervals (eg. 60 s, 10 min…).
  • Data acquisition from external facilities via data communication (MODBUS, SPA-BUS, IEC 61850, etc.).
  • Original  SW TEGRAF a LOGA software is available for efficient processing of the acquired data, enabling displaying of time behaviour of the monitored parameters as well as printing reports.
  • Fully autonomous operation of the monitoring system.
  • Robust design suitable for industrial applications.
  • High overall system reliability

On-line Diagnostic System MOSAD®-5 for Monitoring of Electrical Equipment

Development, manufacturing, implementation and operation of the modular system MOSAD®-5 (Monitoring System of Analogue and Digital signals). The system continuously monitors the operation of complex electrical equipment and systems. The system records fast transient and failure events and identifies the failure sources.
